Your journey to Belmont starts here. We've made the first-year application process simple with multiple application plans designed to fit your timeline. Step 1: Choose Your Application Plan
Belmont's Early Action application plans are a great fit for students who are ready to move forward with their college search early in their senior year. The best part? Applying Early Action is non-binding, meaning you can apply to other schools and still qualify for scholarships and financial aid. Choose the path that works best for you:- Complete your application and submit all materials by November 1 to be among the first to receive your admission decision.
- Applying during Early Action I puts you in consideration for Belmont's Top Scholarships, Departmental Scholarships, and General Academic Merit Scholarships.
- You'll hear from us on November 20, giving you plenty of time to plan your future.
- If you're accepted, secure your spot by submitting your nonrefundable deposit by May 1.
- Complete your application and submit all materials by December 1.
- Applying during Early Action II puts you in consideration for Departmental Scholarships and General Academic Merit Scholarships.
- Your admission decision will arrive on December 21.
- If accepted, you also have until May 1 to secure your spot by submitting your nonrefundable enrollment deposit.
We understand that everyone's journey is different. Our Regular Decision deadline is designed for students who need more time to complete their application.
- Apply between December 2 - March 1 to be considered for General Academic Merit Scholarships.
- Decisions will be released in January and will continue on a rolling basis.
- If accepted, submit your nonrefundable deposit by May 1.
Belmont University reviews applications for spring and summer terms on a rolling basis and Early Action is not available. Early submission of application materials is strongly encouraged. Expect a decision within a few weeks of your completed application.

Special Program Requirements
Applicants to the School of Music, Department of Theatre & Dance, select Watkins College of Art programs, the Songwriting major, and the Exercise Science (3+3 DPT or OTD) major have additional application steps, including auditions and portfolio submissions. Please check program-specific deadlines.

Step 3: Submit Required Application Materials
To complete your first-year application, you'll need to also submit:
Request that official transcripts be sent from the high school directly to the Office of Admissions. For a transcript to be official, it may not be marked “Issued to Student." Belmont will accept official transcripts via mail, Parchment, Clearinghouse, Naviance or SCOIR.

Belmont University is test-optional. When completing your application, you’ll decide whether or not you want your test scores considered.
If you choose to submit scores, please have your official ACT or SAT reports sent directly from the testing agency, or provide them on an official high school transcript. Self-reported test scores are acceptable. (Note: Belmont does not consider the Writing section of either exam.)
In alignment with ACT reporting, Belmont no longer factors the Science section into ACT composite scores. This policy applies retroactively, so Science scores are removed from all ACT results, no matter when the test was taken.
For both admission and scholarship review, Belmont will use your super-score, the highest section scores across multiple test dates.

Belmont also accepts the Classic Learning Test (CLT). If you wish to submit your CLT scores, please do so via your CLT student account on the CLT website.
Provide the School Counselor Recommendation (or School Report Form if using the Common Application) to the appropriate person in your school counseling office and request that they send the completed recommendation directly to Belmont.

Yes. Belmont uses a test-optional admissions policy. Students may choose whether to submit SAT or ACT scores, and applications are reviewed holistically whether scores are included or not.
Belmont considers a range of academic factors when reviewing applications. Admissions decisions are based on a holistic review that includes academic performance, course rigor, extracurricular involvement and other application materials.
No separate application is required for most merit scholarships at Belmont. When you apply for admission, you are automatically considered. Some departmental or specialized scholarships may require additional materials or auditions.
Students seeking financial aid should submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as early as possible after it opens to receive priority consideration. Filing early helps ensure access to the most financial aid options.
After applying, students receive access to Belmont’s BU4U applicant portal where they can track application materials, upload documents and view admission decisions.
Belmont releases Early Action I decisions on November 20 and Early Action II decisions on December 21. Regular Decision notifications are released on a rolling basis beginning in January.
Belmont typically has a priority enrollment deposit deadline of March 1 and a final enrollment deadline of May 1 (National College Decision Day). Depositing earlier can provide advantages in housing selection and orientation scheduling.
After submitting the enrollment deposit, students receive information about housing selection, orientation registration, financial aid steps and preparing for their first semester.
