  • Application to the University
    • Belmont Application, Common Application© or apply Coalition, powered by Scoir accepted
  • Official High School Transcript
  • School Counselor Recommendation Letter
  • ACT/SAT Test Scores (Optional)

Belmont University will approve an application fee ($50) waiver to qualifying students based on indicators of economic need or if the student is first generation. To request, please complete NACAC’s application fee waiver form on behalf of the student indicating their eligibility criteria, and then submit directly to the appropriate Admissions Counselor.

Belmont considers students as first-generation if neither of their parents has completed a bachelor’s degree. Likewise, students may be considered first-generation if their parents did not complete a degree in the United States and therefore may be unfamiliar with navigating the college system in the United States.

E-Delivery of transcripts is accepted solely through Parchment, Clearinghouse, Naviance and SCOIR. Official transcripts will also be accepted via hardcopy mail sent directly to Belmont’s Office of Admissions at the following address:

1900 Belmont Blvd
ATTN: Office of Admissions
Nashville, TN 37212

Transcripts sent via email or fax are not considered official documents, and therefore will not be accepted.

Students may send official test scores directly from the College Board and/or ACT Administration. Reporting the test score on an official high school transcript will also be considered an official test score submission (as long as the test date and all relevant sub-scores are provided). Test scores emailed to the Admissions staff will not be accepted as an official submission.

Belmont is test optional.

The only required recommendation form must come from the applicant’s school counselor. This may be submitted via any of our delivery methods listed above. Alternatively, applicants may send an invitation to the School Counselor to complete the recommendation form electronically by providing a valid counselor email address on their prospective student portal, called BU4U. This may be virtually requested after the application has been fully submitted by the student.

Homeschooled students should submit one Personal Recommendation letter from someone other than a family member. This letter should be sent directly to Belmont from the recommender.

Application Opens: August 1st

Application Deadline: We use rolling admissions, so we accept applications through July 1st.

Priority Scholarship Deadline: December 1st

General Academic Merit Scholarship Deadline: None. All students will be considered upon submission of their application.
