Belmont Virtual Parking Permits

Belmont’s permits are now virtual, with no physical permit or sticker, and are tied to the vehicle's license plate. License plate readers are in use at the entrances and exits of all parking garages on campus and at surface parking on the west side of campus between Acklen Avenue and Belmont Boulevard. This eliminates the burden of issuing (including mailing or picking up), securing (no more lost or stolen permits), and displaying a physical permit. Because your license plate is your permit, just one number or letter being incorrect or out of place will result in a citation.

Visitors may register at belmont.aimsparking.com. Registration is free and may be done for up to two days at a time. Once registered, there is no need to print or display any permits on your dash, as your visitor parking pass is virtual.

Registration of Motor Vehicles

All vehicles — including automobiles, motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles — operating on campus must be registered and have a proper permit. Vehicle registration will be valid from June 2025 through Aug. 15, 2026. All vehicles must be renewed each academic year.

How to Register

Registration is done through https://my.belmont.edu/ by logging in to your account and clicking on the "Bicycle and Vehicle Registration" link under the Campus Security and Safety tab. Before registering online, make sure you have the following information:

  1. Vehicle make
  2. Vehicle model
  3. Vehicle color
  4. License plate number
  5. Best contact phone number with area code
  6. Your local address (where you live while attending school, not your permanent residence)

If you have a state-issued disability tag or placard and intend to use disability parking spaces on campus, you must provide a copy of your state-issued disability parking permit and documentation showing that the permit is issued in your name when picking up your decal.

Once you register your vehicle online, there is no need to pick up a permit, as they are virtual, except for bicycles.

Persons desiring to operate a vehicle on campus on a temporary basis must register a temporary vehicle under the Parking tab on https://my.belmont.edu/.

Students whose parent or spouse is employed by the university may not use a faculty/staff parking permit if the student normally drives to class.

All residential students must park in their designated zone between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All vehicles must be parked nose in. Backing in, including for vehicles with front license plates, is prohibited.

If a student moves from one residence to another, they must update their virtual permit at https://my.belmont.edu/.

Student workers will not be issued faculty/staff permits. Only employees paid from faculty/staff payroll are issued faculty/staff permits.

A parking permit does not guarantee a place to park; it is merely permission to park on campus.
