The building features grand, white Corinthian columns that line the entrance, supporting a detailed entablature with the college's name engraved across the top. Large windows between the columns reflect the soft light of the setting sun, casting a warm glow over the impressive classical architecture. The surrounding stonework and design elements emphasize the building's grandeur and institutional significance.

Our Holistic Review Process

Our holistic review process balances an applicant’s life experiences and qualities with their academic accomplishments. We are looking forward to getting to know you – your background, your passions, and your future goals - as you begin your life-long study of medicine.

From the very beginning of our process, FCoM considers each aspect of who you are and what you bring to the learning environment. We utilize a holistic review process valuing each applicant’s experiences, attributes, and academic metrics and how that aligns with the mission of the Frist College of Medicine.

Experiences – we want to hear about the life experiences that have shaped the kind of person you are - from experiences in the medical field, to jobs, volunteerism, athletics, music, and everything in between. The diversity of experiences help build a class of students who can learn with and about each other.

Attributes – who you are is just as important as what you do. We want to know about the kind of person you are and personal attributes that guide your daily interactions and shape your long-term goals. These personal attributes will build into excellence as a physician.

Metrics – a strong academic foundation is required for success in medical school and a career in medicine. We utilize both GPA and MCAT scores to access academic readiness.
