Career Counseling

College of Law Career & Professional Development

The Office of Career & Professional Development is committed to helping students explore their career opportunities and understand what it means to be a lawyer. The office provides law students the resources, skills and support necessary for a successful job search. We offer students individual counseling and coaching sessions with our Juris Doctor credentialed staff, as well as workshops on topics related to career exploration and professional development, and valuable mentorship opportunities through our Peer Mentor Program and Inn of Court.

Individual counseling sessions can cover :

  • Career planning
  • Effective resume & cover letter writing
  • Interview prep
  • Job search and networking strategies
  • Offer negotiation

Students are encouraged to meet with a member of the Career & Professional Development staff at least once a semester.

Workshops are held throughout the year.  Students sign up for events through our recruiting platform, Briefcase.
