Biography

Rachel Faulkner, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, serves as the Simulation Educator at Belmont University's Center for Interprofessional Engagement and Simulation in Nashville, TN. With a BSN from Eastern Michigan University (2012) and a DNP from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (2023), Dr. Faulkner brings a wealth of experience in simulation, critical care, and flight nursing to her role. Her academic background includes simulation work with Lipscomb University and Associate Professor and Simulation Coordinator at Tennessee State University, where she honed her skills in creating, running, and managing complex patient simulations. In her current position, she focuses on developing innovative simulation experiences to enhance individual disciplines and interprofessional education.

Dr. Faulkner is actively engaged in research on simulation as best-practice learning in competency-based nursing education, contributes as a peer reviewer for the Air Medical Journal, and maintains an active Family Nurse Practitioner practice through Vanderbilt Medical Center. Her recent publication and ongoing grant application efforts reflect her commitment to advancing simulation pedagogy in nursing education.
