Biography
Nia Allen is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and she is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Hospitality and Retail Management. She received her B.A. from Clark Atlanta University, a Master's of Communication from Loyola University, and a Masters of Fashion Industry Studies from Kent State University, one of the top fashion schools in the world. Yes, way too much school! She also has over a decade of experience in the luxury fashion industry working at Nordstrom and Gucci, celebrity personal styling and she has even started her own fashion weekend which served as a catalyst for African Americans looking to get a start in the fashion industry. With that being said, Nia's research area is The Luxury Fashion Retail Industry and its intricate relationship with African Americans. She has written for top fashion publications like Business of Fashion and also has been a contributor for PopSugar, Business Insider and XO Necole.
