Biography

Lauri D. Chaudoin serves as Deputy University Counsel at Belmont University, bringing decades of legal experience to the institution. In her current role, she draws on a career that spans private practice, corporate counsel work, higher education compliance, and Title IX leadership.

A proud Belmont alumna, Chaudoin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in German from the university before completing her Juris Doctor at Vanderbilt University Law School. She began her legal career practicing labor and employment law, later joining Rogers Group, Inc., where she served as Assistant General Counsel with responsibilities including employment matters, contract review, construction law, litigation management, and general corporate advisement.

In 2008, Chaudoin founded Chaudoin Law, where she provided employment law and general corporate law services to businesses of varying sizes and expanded her practice to include adoption law—a personal passion inspired in part by her own family’s adoption journey.

Before transitioning into her current university counsel role, Chaudoin contributed to Belmont in multiple capacities, including serving as Director of Title IX Compliance and Prevention Programs, where she focused on strengthening campus wide approaches to sexual misconduct prevention, awareness, and response.

Dedicated to both legal excellence and service, Chaudoin has been an adjunct professor of Business Law at Belmont and enjoys sharing her passion for adoption law with classes in Belmont’s College of Law. She continues to combine her legal expertise with a commitment to advancing Belmont’s mission and supporting the university and greater communities. Chaudoin delights in serving on the Executive Board of Chosen with a Mission, which supports the Chosen Junior and Senior schools in Matugga, Uganda.
