Biography

Jason Lovvorn (Ph.D., Vanderbilt; M.A., University of Virginia; B.A., University of Alabama) is a Professor of English and currently serves as the internship coordinator for the English Department. He often teaches writing and rhetoric, including the rhetoric of humor as well as the rhetoric of human rights, and many of his classes have involved a commitment to service-learning in the Nashville community. His academic and research interests include rhetorical studies, new materialism, new media, and higher-education pedagogy. He has published work on writing centers, service-learning narratives, literacy histories, and online media including digital stories, video games, and discussion boards.
