Biography

Dr. Emmanuel Saka is an Assistant Professor of Experiential Graphic Design. He earned his BFA in Graphic Design from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. He obtained his MFA in Graphic Design and PhD. in Human-Computer Interaction from Iowa State University.

His research interest is in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction, UI and UX design, service design, educational technology and curriculum development.

Prior to joining Belmont, he served as an Assistant Professor, Graphic Design at Emmanuel College, GA, an instructor at Grand View University, Des Moines-Iowa and Iowa State University, Ames-Iowa. He also worked with Athene, USA as the lead E-Learning specialist.

Dr. Emmanuel Saka enjoys working with students and parents from marginalized populations including immigrant population to foster higher education in design and career options. This experience and passion motivated him to focus his PhD. dissertation on Technology experience: Postsecondary education exploration by non-native English-speaking immigrant parents.

He considers teaching as an opportunity of service to contribute to the development of future design and HCI professionals, who will use design as a platform for social responsibility towards positive transformation.
