Biography

With over 26 years of experience in health sciences education, Crystal Hendron has dedicated her career to supporting students’ success—specifically in high-stakes, fast-paced environments like medical and health professions education over the past 11 years. She serves as the Director of Student Success Programs at FCOM, where she and her team of Learning Specialists are thrilled to provide students with exceptional student learning support and guidance in preparation for the USMLE Step 1, Shelf, and Step 2 exams. Prior to working at FCOM, Dr. Hendron’s previous roles included leading academic success programming, Peer Academic Leader programming, faculty development workshops, and mentoring new Medical Education Learning Specialists at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix and A.T. Still University (ATSU) in Mesa, AZ. Dr. Hendron has successfully mentored students in a variety of graduate level health professions programs including allopathic and osteopathic schools of medicine, school of dentistry, physical and occupational therapy, physician assistant, andaudiology.

Dr. Hendron has been an active member of the Association of Medical Education Learning Specialists group since 2017, contributing through leadership committees like the annual meeting planning committee and the creation of Distinct Interest Groups (DIGs) within the MELS organization. Dr. Hendron supports the development of scholarly research in the teaching anlearning fields of medical education and mentoring new learning specialists to the field of medicine.
