Biography

Dr. Cook teaches in Belmont University's undergraduate nursing program. Prior to arriving to Belmont, she was faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in the MSN program (AG-ACNP Specialty) and was a DNP advisor (2014-2024). She is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) and board-certified as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). She has extensive experience in critical care including, 

  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Centennial Medical Center (2019-present)
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (2014-2018)
  • Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, University of North Carolina Healthcare System (2010-2014)

During her tenure at UNC Hospital, she was clinical faculty with UNC Schools of Medicine and Nursing. Through this experience, she became motivated to pursue doctoral study in order to contribute to teaching future generations of nurses and nurse practitioners.

She is thrilled to join Belmont Nursing's Christ-centered community! She is married and has two daughters. She is actively engaged in Brentwood Baptist Church.
