Biography

Dr. Claudia Guerrazzi Young is an Associate Professor of Healthcare Management at Belmont University, where she has been teaching and conducting research since 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Services Administration with a specialization in Strategic Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as an M.Sc. in Economics and Management of Public Administration from Bocconi University and a B.Sc. in the same field from the University of Siena. Before joining Belmont, she was an Assistant Professor at Widener University, where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare management.

Dr. Young’s research focuses on healthcare innovation, digital health adoption, patient safety, health disparities, and provider wellness. Over the years, she has published on topics such as electronic health records, health information exchange, hospital performance, and burnout interventions. Her work incorporates both organizational and policy perspectives and applies quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches.

Dr. Young is an Associate Editor for Health Services Management Research: Theory, Evidence, Implications and an active contributor to the European Academy of Management (EURAM), where she has presented her research multiple times and served as a discussant. She has also collaborated on research presented at APIC, where her co-authored study on NICU bloodstream infection risks received the APIC 2023 Blue Ribbon Abstract Award.

At Belmont, Dr. Young teaches courses in healthcare management, strategic management, and international business. She plays an active role in the Healthcare MBA program, leading curriculum enhancements and program initiatives to support student and industry needs.
