Biography
Alix Rogers is the Director of Career and Professional Development at Belmont University College of Law. She joined Belmont Law in 2022 as the school’s inaugural Public Interest Coordinator, where she established a robust public interest program and launched monthly pro bono legal clinics. In her current role, Alix leads the Office of Career Services & Professional Development, counseling students and alumni on career pathways, building employer relationships, and overseeing the school’s job placement efforts. She also teaches professional development programming and supervises students providing pro bono legal services.
Before returning to Belmont, Alix served as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, where she represented clients in family, housing, consumer, employment, and re-entry matters. She was honored by the organization with the Drake Holliday Award and was recognized statewide as the 2021 New Advocate of the Year by the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services. Alix has also practiced with a private firm in southern Middle Tennessee, where she focused on family law, general civil litigation, and estate planning.
Alix earned her law degree from Belmont University College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Murray State University. While in law school, she served as President of the Family Law Society and Clinic Coordinator for Belmont’s Legal Aid Society, logging more than 450 hours of pro bono service. She received the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Law Student for Justice Award. In 2022, Alix was named one of Murray State University’s Top 22 Under 40.
Deeply committed to public service and access to justice, Alix currently serves as the Middle Tennessee Governor for the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and as the Tennessee Young Lawyer Delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee and serves on multiple advisory committees for the Tennessee Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission. She also sits on the board for the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services and Community Helpers of Rutherford County. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the ABA’s Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access and multiple honors from the Tennessee Bar Association. In 2024, Alix was appointed by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to a 6 year term on the Tennessee State Board of Appeals.
